Just now, these things happened:
I started the Flash DE.
Adobe Updater launched itself too.
Updater asked me if I wanted to install the updates for Illustrator.
I said yes.
It told me shut down Flash and Camino.
From this I infer:
Updater launches at startup of any app in the CS3 Suite.
Updater requires CS3 apps to be shut down when [...]
… or at least, its implimentation in pretty much every language in which I have I have come across it, sucks.
I have never been a fan of Perl, but I had to use CPAN today to install SVN::Web, and I’m very impressed by how well thought out the process was. I’m not sure how much of that is CPAN and how much is the SVN::Web package, but all in all a much easier experience than [...]
