I do try to refrain from adding to the vast swathes of the blogosphere devoted to the US elections but this:
“I want the Iranians to know that if I’m the president, we will attack Iran … In the next 10 years, during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them.”
American Democrats: for your own sake, if nothing else, please do not give your support to this agenda. The prospect of electing a female president, however great a symbolic triumph, is a trivial matter compared the devastation she is apparently so willing to wield, coupled with the continuation of the poisonous American policies in the Middle East. The fact that she is a woman appears to mean, to her, that she will have to be more aggressive to prove herself as a pseudo-man, tough enough to compete with John McCain and his hundred-year war plans. Sad but true. Believe me - I grew up under Thatcher and I know. Elect a woman by all means - but not this one.
