My MacBook is getting a bit weather-beaten and I’m thinking of a getting a replacement. Maybe a PC laptop this time (cheaper) which means I would run Ubuntu. The only problem is that Flex Builder 3 for Linux is only at alpha stage, and there is no official date for a full release as far as I know.
So I’m thinking about alternatives. IntelliJ offers Flex development support. It would be nice to say goodbye to the Eclipse platform. Has anyone out there used IntelliJ for Flex dev, and if so, can you comment on your experiences? Ta.

Never used it myself but know a bunch of people who are really happy with it. Seems to have some great code coverage/analyzing tools which i miss in Flash Builder.
I’ve used it for months now (during the beta). it’s very nice! Every once in awhile I need to go back to flex builder but not that often..
times I can’t use intelliJ
1. profiling
2. debuging xml.. Intellij can’t show you the values of xml at breakpoints
3. packaging up AIR apps
Been hearing really good things about it, and just got an OS license – Worth applying for if you have any OS Projects on the go.
