I own a copy of Apple’s iWork 08, and the features in the 09 version look pretty good – enough to tempt me to reconsider using different software for actual writing (I am trialling the excellent Scrivener and think I will buy it when the trial expires) and for document preparation.
But – where’s the upgrade pricing? It doesn’t seem to exist; I’ve looked on the Apple website. It’s quite cheap anyway, but I’m damned if I’ll pay the same price for an upgrade when I just bought the 08 version a couple months ago …

Apple? Expensive? Stop the presses! ;)
Apple I find is comparable to others when you consider the value. The question really is whether the upgrade makes significant enough changes to make it worth your while. I haven’t seen a comparison clearly laid out.
I am tempted to purchase the ’09 upgrade, but having only purchased the ’08 Family Pack version three months ago with a new MacBook Pro and spent £29.95p on an iWork ’08 manual from the Apple Training Series, to upgrade and purchase a new manual is too expensive.
Okay, so it’s not THAT expensive, but that’s ridiculous that they don’t have upgrade pricing. No love for those loyal customers? Stupid model.
