I just scanned through The Algorithmist’s list of examples and tutorials on Papervision3D. Very useful. I thought I would post a couple of links that I’ve found that have been helpful in my 3D journey (which I am still on, I emphasise!).
First of all, the API docs that the wiki links to are out of date. (I’m assuming that you’re using the Great White branch, i.e. Papervision 2.0 alpha. If not, why not?) Either build your own with asdoc or use the ones in FlashBookmarks.
Then either subscribe to the mailing list on OSFlash, or scan through the archives on Nabble. If you’re trying to use a feature that hasn’t been documented yet (there are a lot of these) or suspect there’s a bug (this is alpha software we’re talking about), your first port of call should be the mailing list.
Just recently I came across a guide to lighting and shade materials. He has plenty of other info on PV3D also.
Here is a guide to getting Cinema4D content into Papervision via Blender and Collada export format from Béla Korcsog. It’s kind of out-of-date now because of advances in PV3D, but I found it very helpful to get my head around the concepts.
There are some good tutorials on PV3D 2.0 at pv3d.org.
