I’ve used Flickr to organise my photos for a while now, and it’s been pretty good. They cap the free account at a certain number of photos, though, and then you have to start paying for it. I don’t see the point in paying for it when I already pay for web hosting, so I’m trying out the Plogger system.
It’s open source and LAMP-based. I’ve installed it, and added my photos in, here. It has an RSS feed, but I am yet to find a Wordpress widget that will accept its output. Maybe it follows the same syntax as Flickr, but I doubt it; it’s quite a different system. The taxonomy system is hierarchical rather than tag-based.
Maybe the best bet is to roll my own Plogger-stream Wordpress widget; then I’ll have something to add to this site’s as yet fairly skinny downloads section.
